چکیده

ALTHOUGH many techniques1-12 have been proposed or utilized for the semiquantitative or quantitative assessment of aortic regurgitation, the most direct approach involves measurement of the regurgitant flow by the recording of indicator concentrations from the left ventricle following injection into the aortic root. This method is theoretically valid13 and had been applied to aortic regurgitation in man12 and to experimental aortic regurgitation in dogs,14, 13 utilizing the sudden indicator injection technique. Attempts to use this technique in our laboratory, however, yielded erratic results. It was reasoned that if the defect in the method was primarily due to the critical dependence of indicator distribution on the timing of the injection or to a beat-to-beat variation in forward or regurgitant stroke output, these difficulties could be overcome by using a continuous infusion of indicator. Therefore, the measurement of aortic

Aortic Valve replacement with Reduction Aortoplasty with Mesh Prosthesis in 75 years old with Sever aortic Regurgitation with Aortic Aneurysm

Although classic and standard procedure for patients with ascending Aorta aneurysm with Sever aortic Regurgitation is Bentall surgery but in some selected cases this complex surgery was not performed with different reason like advanced age and coexisting comorbidity involving renal and hepatic and lung Function. In our cases 75 years old man with chronic renal failure ( Cr= 3.2 ) who was known ...

A Rare Case of Severe Aortic Regurgitation with Silent Ascending Aortic Dissection

Classically, ascending aortic dissection (AD) presents as sudden, severe chest pain that is tearing type and radiates to the back. Herein, we present a rare case of severe aortic regurgitation with silent ascending AD, which had no chest pain symptoms. The aortic valve apparatus probably masked this AD; therefore, it was not detected by echocardiography and during the surgery.

Measurement of aortic regurgitation by Doppler echocardiography.

In an attempt to develop a new approach to the non-invasive measurement of aortic regurgitation, transmitral volumetric flow (MF) and left ventricular total stroke volume (SV) were measured by Doppler and cross sectional echocardiography in 23 patients without aortic valve disease (group A) and in 26 patients with aortic regurgitation (group B). The transmitral volumetric flow was obtained by m...

Echocardiographic assessment of severity of aortic regurgitation.

An echocardiographic study of left ventricular diameter was made in 27 patients with aortic regurgitation. Comparison was made with a group of 21 normal subjects and a group of 6 patients with large left ventricles without valvar regurgitation. Total stroke volume, total left ventricular output, and ejection fraction were derived by the method of cubing the left ventricular diameter to give app...

Bicuspid Aortic Valve: An Unusual Cause of Aneurysm of Left Coronary Sinus of Valsalva

Bicuspid aortic valve is traditionally considered an innocuous congenital anomaly. Due to a better and widespread availability of non-invasive imaging techniques, it has come to the fore that 30% of these cases develop complications, viz., valve abnormality (aortic regurgitation and stenosis), and aneurysm of aortic root and ascending aorta. Sinus of Valsalva aneurysm is an uncommon complicatio...
